It seems like just yesterday, we were wrapping up another great season of Camp Rising Sun and welcoming 100 new Rising Sun alumni to our Global Alumni Network. As our alumni know well, Camp doesn’t end when the campers go home. Over the next several months, alumni and friends of CRS will be hard at work selecting our next group of campers for Camp Rising Sun 2017.

Camp Rising Sun simply would not happen without the hard work and dedication of our outstanding selectors. These local alumni and friends of CRS, who we call “selectors,” invest their time and energy into performing outreach in their areas, reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, and supporting accepted campers and their families. Most often, alumni volunteer to help out with their regional selection committee; however, not all of our candidates come from countries or states with established alumni selectors. These candidates are reviewed by a separate group of CRS volunteers who serve on an “at-large” selection committee. If you are an alumni of CRS who is interested in getting involved with selection this year, please reach out to your local alumni association to learn more.

Our local alumni associations are also a great resource for anyone interested in applying to Camp Rising Sun. Who better to tell you about "a day at Camp Rising Sun" than an alumnus/alumna who has experienced it first hand? If you are interested in applying to Camp Rising Sun, please reach out to your local alumni association to see if there is an upcoming information session in your area. If there is no alumni association in your area, please contact the Foundation staff at apply@lajf.org. Many of our Foundation staff were campers too, and we would be happy to provide more information about the program.
