Join in a round table discussion with fellow recent CRS alums about body positivity across the globe and its impact.
What exactly is "body positivity" and the movement that surrounds it? What do beauty standards look like in our different cultures? How does social media impact these standards and our self concept? How can we shape the conversation and build movements that encourage acceptance and representation?
The Body Positive Alliance is a student-led nonprofit organization advocating for the acceptance, representation, and equity of all bodies regardless of physical ability, size, gender, race, or appearance. We'll be joined by two members of the Body Positive Alliance's team, Cate Navarrete (Founder and Executive Director) and Maryam Faisal (Director of Community Engagement). Cate and Maryam will share about the mission of the Body Positive Alliance and open up the discussion.
The Recent Camper Network (RCN) was launched in Fall 2023 as a post-camp leadership initiative for 2023 in-person and TELE campers. Over 50 Summer 2023 campers volunteered to be "RCN Ambassadors" to launch the network, plan programming, and cultivate connections among their high school peers. Additional zoom webinars and workshops are currently being scheduled for the upcoming months.
