Our Rising Sun Programs

Leadership training for young people who want to change the world

The Louis August Jonas Foundation funds and operates two programs: Camp Rising Sun (CRS) (in person) and The Ethical Leadership Experience (TELE) (online). Our programs are designed to support participants in their development of compassionate and ethical leadership skills. Both programs bring together teens from countries all around the world, and this resulting cultural exchange leads to expanded perspectives and lifelong friendships.

CAMP RISING SUN

Camp Rising Sun is a full-scholarship summer camp program in Upstate New York where young people practice compassionate leadership skills, learn from each other, and build community. You’ll return home with a better understanding of yourself, the world, and how you can make change in your own community.

CRS is four-weeks long and there are two sessions in July and August—one for Girls + Non-Binary campers and one for Boys + Non-Binary campers.

THE ETHICAL LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE (TELE)

Be part of a small, international cohort of students exploring issues of leadership, identity, justice, and action. The Ethical Leadership Experience (TELE) is a highly interactive virtual program where you’ll have the opportunity to: Work on collaborative projects with teens from around the world, share your passions and learn about others’ interests, and make lasting friendships.

TELE is two-weeks long and there are sessions in July and August.
