A note from Tim:
On November 21st, I will be participating in my first-ever Ironman triathlon in Arizona. I’m reaching out to you because I’d love for you to join me on this exciting journey. Not only am I humbly asking you for your moral support, but also I am using this as an opportunity to raise $20,000 for The Louis August Jonas Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has had a lifelong impact on me.
I currently serve as Board President and was a camper at Camp Rising Sun in the summers of ‘78 and ‘79. Our mission is to bring together youth from countries across the globe, under the common goal of developing compassionate leadership skills. We believe that youth in our program are positioned to positively impact the world as a result of their experiences with servant leadership, connections with peers across cultures, and development of a philosophy to serve their communities in pursuit of humanitarian goals. As I prepare for the Ironman, it feels good to be part of something bigger than myself — a lesson I learned during my time at Camp.
Will you join me in being a part of something bigger than oneself? Whether you make a gift to cheer me on or because you want to help us reach our fundraising goal of $20,000, you should know that your gift will impact young people in our program. I am so appreciative. Please click here to make a donation to LAJF and Camp Rising Sun.
I am reminded that we cannot walk alone. The 140 mile event includes swimming 2.4m, biking 112m and running 26.2m, alongside 2,000+ incredible athletes from around the world. During the long day of the race, I will be thinking of you. I am grateful to have a strong community of people who truly care about building a better world. Thank you for your thoughts and encouragement and supporting this worthy cause. I’m also excited to see how this experience will add to my personal growth.
Together, we can do many things.
With gratitude,
Tim Wong
