The Recent Camper Network is a community led by a team of recent camper Ambassadors who are dedicated to keeping their CRS experience alive long past their last day of Camp. This group is passionate about their experiences in CRS and TELE, and hope to create continued opportunities for connection with each other and all members of the global CRS community.
Here is a message from RCN Ambassador and CRS 2024 camper, Ethan:
“Hi everyone, my name is Ethan. I come from New Jersey (USA), and I attended the Boys/Nonbinary session in 2024. Being an ambassador was about staying connected to the CRS community. When I arrived home from Camp, I immediately felt the tinges of yearning to be back at Camp. This was because I was so grateful to be a part of a community, enjoy my time living at Camp, and making new friends that I would keep for the rest of my life. To keep this sense of community going and to make new friends in the CRS community, I decided to be an ambassador. I feel that as an ambassador, I want to specifically keep a tight-knit community that is inclusive yet welcomes new members each year to share the feeling that I got while attending CRS, something that I will always be grateful for. This means that we, as ambassadors, will pursue a variety of activities to strengthen our bonds as friends and a community. Primarily, our team has worked hard to create a variety of events that we hope ambassadors and alumni alike will enjoy spending their time in. Also, we’re taking initiative with programs like Leaders Without Borders and Intergenerational Mental Health to take action within our community and make an impact outside of it too!”
RCN Ambassadors would love for more alums—recent and beyond!—to be involved with their programs and initiatives. Currently, they are interested in interviewing alums from all generations about their CRS or TELE experiences and sharing these stories with the community.
If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact Chayel Moses, our Program Coordinator, by emailing cmoses@lajf.org. You can also reach out to Chayel with any other questions you might have about the Recent Camper Network!
