To our CRS Alumni Community: LAJF is sharing the following message concerning the invasion of Ukraine, on behalf of the CRS Alumni Association of Poland. As a global organization, we are following the unfolding events and encourage our alumni to help and support as they can.
A MESSAGE FROM THE CRS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF POLAND
Dear Camp Rising Sun Community,
We are reaching out to you in times of terrible injustice happening just behind our eastern border.
As you know, after several years of conflict in eastern Ukraine, on February 24th, Russia launched a brutal invasion endangering the lives of millions of Ukrainians. Some of them, mostly mothers with children, managed to flee to the neighboring countries. Many remain displaced within their own country.
As of today, more than 400,000 Ukrainians crossed the border to Poland. The Polish government has eased all the restrictions so that all those in need can enter the country. The Polish people have proven true brothers and sisters to their neighbors. People are offering transportation from the border, free legal, language, and medical support, accommodation at their own homes. In towns and cities all around the country, there are fundraisers and collections of specific most-needed items (at the moment medical supplies and electronic equipment). The situation is nevertheless extremely dynamic and the needs will most probably grow.
The financial ability to provide adequate help to the displaced Ukrainians is contingent on donations from across the world.
In the spirit of solidarity and of the values we have all learned through Camp Rising Sun, we are sharing with you several verified organizations that you may financially support to help the Ukrainian refugees. We trust that due to their experience they will know best how to distribute the funds between those in need in Poland and those in Ukraine. You can be sure that your donations will directly benefit the Ukrainian people.
PCPM (Fundacja Polskie Centrum Pomocy Miedzynarodowej)

We hope you are all safe and well and we are grateful to have this global community in times like these.
Thank you and may there soon be peace,
The CRS Alumni Association of Poland
