Corona Preparedness at Camp Rising Sun 2022
Camp Rising Sun is busy preparing to welcome our 2022 campers to our beautiful campus! This year, part of that preparation is carefully drafting a COVID response document so our campers and staff have a safe trip to and from camp. As a camp that serves an international population, extra care was given to make sure that each camper is provided guidelines that ensure they are able to meet their requirements for travel while keeping camp safe.
Our COVID-19 Response Plan
Our plan has been reviewed twice by our Health and Safety Committee which contains a diverse group of healthcare professionals. Doctors, nurses, epidemiologists, and mental health workers were all consulted in the formation of this response plan. We first convened a meeting to discuss what a safe in-person camp experience would look like with the entire Health and Safety Committee. Then, after completing a full first draft, each member of the Health and Safety Committee was provided with the opportunity to give comments and suggest changes. Once these changes were reviewed and incorporated into the draft, the draft went through its first approval process. Earlier this month, a second full review of the document was completed to ensure that our procedures remained up-to-date. After another round of revisions and comments, the full COVID response document went through its final approval process.
Possible exceptions to the COVID response document and cases not covered by the document will be reviewed on a case by case basis by representatives from the Health and Safety Committee.
