The Fall Retreats are a wonderful time to meet alumni across generations, provide tangible service to Camp and basque in the natural beauty of Autumn in the Hudson Valley. There is much work to be done and we invite you to roll up your sleeves and lend a hand at both Clinton and Red Hook. At Clinton, we are working to build a new lean-to on tent hill to replace an aged tent platform. Campers have already built three lean-to’s and this will be the fourth. Learn more about this initiative from Cameron, our Facilities Manager. He talks about the program, safety, comfort and cost benefits of transitioning towards lean-tos.

For those who prefer to be indoors on a brisk day, help us to organize the Camp archives. We will be sorting and batching photos to be scanned by a professional digitization company. In the long term, we aim to curate a historical timeline exhibit in honor of our 90th anniversary in 2020.

At Red Hook we will be revitalizing the International Theater with a fresh coat of paint and finding a new home for the massive picnic tables which are stacked there. A special thank you to alumnus John Tumino who is organizing the volunteer projects and campfire at Red Hook. He envisioned the weekend at Red Hook to build fellowship and bonds among alumni. If times allows, we will also prepare the Emily Dickinson Hall garden for winter and clear the path to tent hill.

When registering please check if you are interested in working on projects at Clinton or Red Hook so we can plan for tools and supplies. You will have flexibility during the weekend to assist at both Camps. Meals will be served and indoor lodging will be available at Clinton. Camping with your own gear is welcome at either site. At this time, please note, there are no bathrooms or water available at Red Hook.
