During the second weekend of September, a large group of 1979-1981 alumni came together at our Red Hook campus for a weekend in the spirit of Camp Rising Sun!
Driving in from near and far, more than 20 people gathered to spend a weekend completing various volunteer projects – gardening, landscaping, cleaning, and tidying at the Red Hook campus. Songs were sung accompanied by piano and guitar, poetry was read, and on Saturday they held a formal alumni council.
Even more members of the '79-'81 cohort joined for a virtual social gathering, connecting dozens of alumni spread across great distances. The event was a tremendous success that we hope will be repeated next year. There was already a feeling of “why wait a year – let’s do this again sooner"!
We are very grateful for the support of Camp Rising Sun and LAJF that the ’79-’81 cohort showed, and for the hard work that they put in.
